Mental Health Support and County Recognition Kick Off the New Year for Angel Babies Matter Network
Houston, TX
Angel Babies Matter Network (ABMN) began 2025 with two powerful moments of connection and recognition that underscore the organization’s growing impact across the Greater Houston community.
In January, Tamika Lamark of The Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD donated vital mental health resources for mothers and families coping with pregnancy and infant loss. Included in the donation were details about The Harris Center’s suicide prevention hotline and “warm line”—a support option for anyone, including grieving mothers and fathers, experiencing a mental health crisis or simply needing someone to talk to.
Ms. Lamark shared the following message on behalf of her organization and Texans Recovering Together:
“On behalf of The Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD and Texans Recovering Together, I would like to express our deepest gratitude for allowing us to be part of your incredible effort to create and distribute 500 care packages to mothers who have experienced the unimaginable loss of a baby.”
“Your dedication to supporting these mothers with compassion and care is truly inspiring, and we are honored to have been included in this meaningful initiative. It is through organizations like yours that communities can find healing and hope during such difficult times.”
“Thank you for giving us the opportunity to contribute to this impactful mission. We look forward to continuing to partner with you in bringing comfort and support to families in need.”

As the month continued, ABMN was honored to receive a visit from Brian Pendleton, representing the Office of Commissioner Lesley Briones of Harris County Precinct 4. Mr. Pendleton presented Certificates of Recognition to ABMN for its ongoing work to support grieving mothers—and to the volunteers preparing for the MLK Day of Service, originally scheduled for January 20. Although the event was rescheduled to March due to inclement weather, the recognition was a touching moment of encouragement and appreciation.

We’re incredibly thankful to The Harris Center and Harris County Precinct 4 for their continued support and belief in our mission. Together, we are making a difference—one care package, one resource, and one act of kindness at a time. 💙
