Angel Babies Matter Network Participates in Third Annual Black Maternal Health Panel
April 11, 2026 | Houston, TX
In recognition of Black Maternal Health Week (April 11–17), Angel Babies Matter Network (ABMN) proudly participated as an exhibitor at the Third Annual Black Maternal Health Panel held on Saturday, April 11, 2026. The event was hosted by Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.® Rho Omicron Omega Chapter (Baytown) and Chi Omicron Omega Chapter (Katy).
The annual panel brought together healthcare professionals, community leaders, and advocates committed to addressing disparities in Black maternal health. With more than 100 attendees, the event created a powerful space for education, awareness, and connection, centering the lived experiences of Black mothers and the urgent need for equitable care.
Angel Babies Matter Network was honored not only to serve as an exhibitor, but also to address the audience and share insights on the critical intersection of pregnancy and infant loss, mental health, and community-based support. Through this platform, ABMN highlighted the importance of ensuring that families experiencing loss receive compassionate care, resources, and continued support beyond the hospital setting.
At the exhibitor table, ABMN connected attendees with information about its Care Package and Healing Support Program, Healing Circles, and mental health resources available to mothers and families navigating pregnancy and infant loss. These conversations reinforced the need for accessible, culturally responsive support systems within communities most impacted by maternal health disparities.
The panel reflects the ongoing commitment of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.® to advocacy, service, and community impact. Under the leadership of Kymberly D. Etheredge, Chapter President, Chi Omicron Omega Chapter, Krystal D. Braden, 2026 President, Rho Omicron Omega Chapter, and Raye White, First Vice President, Chi Omicron Omega Chapter along with the coordination efforts of Melody Perez, Vice President, the Rho Omicron Omega Chapter continue to create meaningful opportunities to educate and empower the communities they serve.
Angel Babies Matter Network is grateful to be part of this important work and looks forward to continued collaboration in support of mothers and families across the Greater Houston area.
