Angel Babies Matter Network Honors MLK Day of Service
Houston, TX – On January 19, 2026, Angel Babies Matter Network partnered with combined chapters of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated® and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® from the Katy and Cypress areas for a meaningful MLK Day of Service focused on compassion, healing, and community impact.
The event took place at Greater Macedonia Baptist Church, where volunteers gathered in the spirit of service to support families impacted by pregnancy and infant loss.
Through the collective efforts of community volunteers and partner organizations, 400 care packages were assembled and prepared for distribution to grieving families. These care packages provide tangible comfort and essential resources to families navigating the emotional journey of pregnancy and infant loss.
In recognition of its ongoing service, Angel Babies Matter Network was honored with a Texas Senate Resolution, formally acknowledging ABMN’s year-round commitment to families impacted by pregnancy and infant loss. The resolution recognized the organization’s comprehensive work, including care-package distribution, healing-centered programming, mental health support, community education, and participation in annual service initiatives such as MLK Day of Service.
Additionally, ABMN and its community partners received a Certificate of Recognition from the State of Texas House of Representatives, presented on behalf of Representative Ron Reynolds, expressing congratulations and appreciation for their dedicated volunteerism and continued support of the community.
The MLK Day of Service reflected the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. by transforming service into action—uplifting families, strengthening partnerships, and reinforcing the importance of compassion-driven community care.
Angel Babies Matter Network extends sincere gratitude to Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated® and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® for their continued partnership and commitment to service, as well as to Greater Macedonia Baptist Church for graciously hosting the event. Together, these collaborations continue to ensure that families experiencing loss are supported, remembered, and never alone.
